Long-lasting applause for Rosa Hilfe Würzburg: The 200 invited volunteers from 15 initiatives in Lower Franconia celebrated this year’s winner of the Great Sponsorship Award of the “Aktion Zeichen setzen” campaign. The advisers are contact persons for gay men who need advice and help. At a festive evening at the Vogel Convention Center (VCC) in Würzburg, a total of five prizes for exemplary voluntary work in the region were awarded. The campaign is supported by the Main-Post media group and the Catholic adult education centre Lernwerk Volkersberg in Bad Brückenau (Bad Kissingen district) and consists of a series of articles in the newspaper titles and the media group’s online presence, as well as five prizes.
The mentor of this year’s campaign is Teresa Enke, chairwoman of the Robert Enke Foundation. The foundation is named after the national goalkeeper Robert Enke, who died by suicide in 2009. In an interview with Main-Post editor Andrea Czygan, Teresa Enke, who comes from Bad Windsheim, reported on the great media response the foundation received on the tenth anniversary of Robert Enke’s death on 10 November. The aim is to break the taboo of depression.
